Benjamin bought land 20 Apr. 1801, from William Urquarhart (DB 9/369). In Oct. 1801 he bought land from Benjamin Johnson (DB 9/475). In Oct. 1813, he bought land from William Lawrence (DB 13/285). In Dec. 1817, Benjamin and Martha sold this land (DB 15/255 - 358) and moved to Autauga County, Al. along with his parents and the Matthew Luter family.

From biography of Dr. Joseph Gray Wilson, Goodspeed's History of

Arkansas,1889

"Benjamin Wilson was a soldier in the War of 1812, in which he held a

commission as captain of a company stationed at Crany Island, and

served throughout the war. He was an old Virginia planter, owning 400 acres

of land, and a few slaves. He died in 1839, a member of the Methodist

Protestant church. The mother of our subject died in 1846. They were the

parents of twelve children, all of whom lived to maturity and six are still

living."

Religion: "They were members of the Black Creek Baptist Church and the

Minute Book in which the birth dates of their children were noted can still

be seen at the Virginia State Historical Society Library at Richmond."

Residence 2: Bet. 1817 - 1818, Moved to Autauga Co., Alabama, accompanied by Joseph's grandparents and Benjamin's sister & brother-in-law, Rebecca and
