Rites Are Held For Brother Of Mrs. Johnson

 

GRAHAM - Final rites for James Franklin Parrish, 75, of Durham, the brother of Mrs. J.L. Johnson of Graham, were held this afternoon at 3 o'clock at Howerton - Bryan Memorial Chapel in Durham. Mr. Parrish died yesterday morning at 8:30 o'clock at his home.

 

Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery, Annex B, in Durham.

 

Survivors, in addition to the sister here, are his wife, Mrs. Hallie Iola Lewter Parrish; one daughter, Mrs. LaRue Parrish Wilson of Kannapolis; three sons William F. Parrish of Sanford, Jesse L Parrish and Auman J. Parrish both of Durham County; two other sisters.Mrs. J. H. Murrell of Anderson and Mrs. J. Clyde Auman of Winston-Salem and nine grandchildren.

Hallie Lewter Parrish Obituary

 

CONCORD - Hallie Iola Lewter Parrish, 106, of Sanford, died Thursday (9/20/90) in Five Oaks Nursing Center in Concord.

 

She was a native of Chatham County who attended Chatham County schools. She lived in Durham County with her husband until recent years, when she made her home with her son and daughter. She was a member of Hope Valley Baptist Church.

 

Funeral will be conducted at 2p.m. Sunday at Hope Valley Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr. James I Murphy. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Annex B.

 

Surviving are one son, William F. (Bill) Parrish of Sanford; one daughter, Mrs. LaRue Wilson of Landis, nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

 

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9p.m. today at Howerton-Bryan Funeral Home, and at other times at the home of Mrs. Jesse Parrish, Route 3, Hwy. 751. Memorials may be made to Hope Valley Baptist Church.
